HVAC
HVAC, or Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning, refers to the
process of climate control in both residential and commercial
buildings; as well as, refrigeration requiring the control of
humidity and temperature. HVAC training at NTI provides
technicians with the theory and knowledge required for
installation, maintenance and repair of residential and light
commercial systems.
Upon completion of the program, students may decide to specialize in certain
areas of HVAC. For example, they may wish to concentrate in the heating or
refrigeration systems or they may wish to specialize in installation only. Some
may wish to generalize in all aspects of HVAC. The HVAC program at NTI is meant
to give the student training in all areas of Heating, Ventilation and
Air-conditioning repair maintenance and installation.

JOB OUTLOOK

Heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers should
have excellent employment opportunities.*
The increased complexity of HVACR systems, which increases the possibility that
equipment may malfunction, also will create opportunities for service
technicians. A growing focus on improving indoor air quality and the increasing
use of refrigerated equipment by a growing number of stores and gasoline
stations that sell food should also create more jobs for heating,
air-conditioning, and refrigeration technicians.*
The average starting annual salary for entry level HVAC Technicians is
$39,199.00.**

CERTIFICATION
Northeast Technical Institute is an Authorized Testing Center for the North American Technician Excellence Certification Exam.
Upon completion of the program, students may decide to sit
for the North American Technician Excellence
(NATE) Certification Exam.
NATE is the leading certification
program for technicians in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and
refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry and is the only test supported by the entire
industry.
Contractors
support the
certified graduates
because
certified technicians remain in the industry longer, do the job right the first
time, and are believed to be more productive than non-certified ones.
